Hobart, Tasmania.

on Monday, September 11, 2017
Finally a dream came true. I went to Tasmania last week. I took train to KL, stayed a night and took the plane to Melbourne, Australia. I waited 6 hours for transit and took a domestic flight to Hobart, Tasmania. It took me almost a day to reach Tasmania but it worth the time.

The moment i reached Melbourne, the weather hit me hard, a good one, i have never experienced winter, and that actually made me excited. Priya and her boyfriend picked me up at Hobart Airport and once i settled down, we went to Salamanca Market. The next day we went to Farmer's market.

I had great time there. Priya made me some local foods too, which i don't know how to enjoy it. Kangaroo meat tasted... weird. Lol. However, the fish n chip was great. Probably the best food i've tasted the whole time there. It wasn't expensive comparatively. I even got a new haircut done by Zac, her boyfriend. I was nervous when he did that but it actually turned out good! Great!

I didn't write much because i'm very tired. I just reached Penang and back to work the next day. However, let me write this before i end my post. I never imagined that one day i get a chance to go abroad; to go travel, to go and experience culture, to feel how does winter feels like, to see yourself the ancient buildings that I only get to see on TV. I repeated this to Priya many times because... i cannot believe i was there, with her at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. To see things that i have never seen before, to feel the feeling that wasn't there before. I'm back to Malaysia writing this post and... I'm so happy and satisfied.

Priya, thank you for accomodating me. Thank your for you and your boyfriend's kindness. I hope everything goes well for you. The problems ahead will be resolved as you walk along. Fear not, for God will guide the lost child the right way.

Expressing my gratitude

on Saturday, August 19, 2017
I have wanted to say this for a very long time but whenever it comes near to my mouth i halted. I feel embarrassing to express my gratitude for my colleagues. It shouldn't but it kinda makes me uncomfortable and i'm also afraid i will make them uncomfortable too. The first person i want to thank is Cecelia. She's my assistant who always do things for not only me but all the physios in the department. Well, she started off not as good but she catches up later on. The department has been busy these days. We do not have enough assistants, only 3 for the moment. One runs the counter, two run inside. One of the two is doing clerical works and whenever she does that, we left one assistant to serve 6 physios. Imagine that. Cecelia is the only we rely a lot on. Arcus is preparing to be launched. My boss is busy with that and Keshika, the assistant and also the clerk, at the same time have to attend to my boss for that too. They're just busy. My boss? I saw her stayed back almost every days the past one week even when she fell sick. You see. The one that's running the counter, Athirah, I sometimes left the timer with her and she is able to take care of that for me. There are many little details that they did for me I actually appreciate a lot but i think i never expressed my gratitude enough to all of them. Sometimes when i work until 9pm i help them out by unplugging the power point, switch off the lights and air-conds etc. but always left one thing for them to do to remind them that it's not compulsory for me to do that for you, it's your job after all, but i appreciate your hard work and i want to take some of your load off. I just don't think i say thank you often enough. I thank all of you guys very much, from the bottom of my heart. We work long hours, almost quarter or maybe more time at work, i somehow hope to just make our working environment a better one, a much bearable and happier one.

My grandma passed away last 2 weeks. I didn't go back for her funeral neither did i shed a tear. I feel sad that i don't feel sad at all. That's how our relationship really was in general. I'm only worried about my dad but God bless, he is doing fine. He took good care of him for me and so i can peacefully work far away from home. Thank you.

And to my mom and dad, thank you for sheltering me even when i'm far away. It warms my heart that there is still someone that aches for my pain, for whatever bad things i went through out there; someone out there willing to cry for it. This is exactly why whenever an old song plays in the radio, especially the one dad likes, it makes want to go home. Somehow, it feels like home.

Shin is getting married. She is the first one to get married in our circle. We are very excited for her. Her twins are coming next year too and i can't wait to be uncle Bryan. That reminds me of our promise in the Sky Bar many years ago. We made a pact, whoever gets married first will buy us one round of hard liquor to celebrate, and it seems like she is gonna be the one! She's getting married on 22nd October 2017, that's my best friend Yean's birthday too. It is going to be a good day!

I'm leaving to Australia very soon. I'm going to see Priya and her friends and the place she's staying very soon and i'm very excited i cannot wait for it. I made a mistake in my flight and i have to pay extra to amend my booking date. My mistake. Just this morning Priya helped me out by calling Jetstar and it turned out that i didn't have to pay full fare, only the amendment fees, which was good enough. She also told me that her friend will lend her a car to pick me up from the airport. That's some good news out of a mistake i made. Well, it wasn't that bad after all. For that, i thank her and her friend very much.

Liu Yuen Yuen once said in her speech, if you spend your entire life blaming for every single things life throws you, then you will live a life full with blames. If you you spend you entire life appreciate every single things life throws you, even if it's bad, then you will live a life full with gratitude. I hold tight to what she said because, somehow, it makes life that fill with all odds slightly easier.

Understanding love and positivity

on Sunday, July 16, 2017
I went Hatyai last week, with my colleagues. I had fun; good foods, good place, good companies, good time. While we were travelling to the hotel JY said he did not hear me complaining anymore; he haven't heard me say that i will one day change my profession bla bla bla for so long, instead, he heard me talking more and more about the future of this profession. I whined quite a bit back then but the funny part was i also didn't realise that i have stopped whining about it. Let's give myself a little more time. Oh, he also said my Hokkien has improved a lot, which i think is the best news for last week.
Did i say i went to get my tattoo done last month? It's almost one month old now and my fondness towards it is growing every day. It is a tribal shark, simple perfect. I didn't know the first 2 weeks itched so so much. The worst part of getting a tattoo was the itchiness. I have to constantly distract myself or the itchiness will kill me. *Striking off 'getting a tattoo' from bucket list.*

I'm feeling weird these days. I constantly feel something is missing from my life. Then i talked to an old friend and she said maybe i need a new hobby, but that was not what i'm looking for. She then said i need a make over from the inside out and i immediately told her never to talk me into gym because i hated it. Well, she said i don't need robots i need human beings! What a way to put it but she gets what i mean. I cannot wait to see her in September.

The more i work the more i feel the importance of these 2 things: Understanding love and positivity. It's time to stop complaining and try to make things come true. Be optimistic, be positive, i believe these traits will carry me far. Do your best and believe that God will lead the way. And focus on the good things. Do not magnify the bad parts of a person but try to embrace a person as a whole. I mean, it's hard to live in a state where you cannot see the good part of a person.

Overloading...?

on Tuesday, June 27, 2017
I was asked a few questions last week and it got me into thinking about them.

My colleague asked me if i have 5 million dollars will i still work as what i'm doing right now? Without thinking much i said no and the reason is simple... it's physically and mentally demanding. Then when i think about it again... i probably will because this job give me a sense of satisfaction. I don't know why i denied it when i was asked maybe it may sound not cool but the answer after serious thought is yes, high chances, yes.

Second one, my colleague said i was overloading myself; i overworked myself. I kinda agree because i constantly feel the connection between effort and reward is not there; it is not balance. Simply because of this the rest decided to not overworking themselves, which was completely fair. Nobody should overwork themselves because work-life balance is important. But why i still chose to be overworked? My dad always tell me one thing: Work wise, don't be afraid when you are being taken advantage of by your organisation because working harder will make you better; in another word you grow better and smarter. I always tell myself to finish my job on time and never give extra minute to every patient i see but i also always ended up with overspending too much time. I don't mind even if i have to stay back although it sometimes made me a angry man when the situation got too taxing for me. But will i do it again? Yes, i most probably will. Why? I don't know my body just does that automatically. It runs in my blood. I think... i was just less calculative when it comes to this aspect.

Third, it just slipped my mind! I'll update again when i remember. Until next time, amigos!

Magic

on Saturday, June 17, 2017
This is the most tiring week so far. Yet tiring, but also the week i get very emotional. There were many things that happened over the week but two particular things that i can't seem to shake off my mind. Last Thursday was very, very busy. My available slots are fully booked and i got 2 extra patients that i have to see and that made my slots overbooked. I wasn't too pleased at the end of the day because i was just too tired. And the documentations that i will have to finish. If there's 16 patients then i will have to write 16 documents. And many other things. Anyway, back to the topic, the two things that made my week a memorable and probably the best week so far.

I have an appointment with this patient last Wednesday but he didn't turn up. That was supposed to be the last appointment with him with a final check before he leave to further his study in Indonesia. So he made a phone call the next day and hopefully to be able to see me. That's one of the reasons why my slots were overbooked. Anyway, he came and his mom came too. I ran the last check and discharged him, in person, officially. He told me he appreciated my help very, very much. He started with wheelchair and now he is able to walk with good balance and little pain and the whole process lasted 6 months plus. Our conversation didn't last long because i was really busy but we took a picture together before we bid each other goodbye. I didn't have time to think about it until one day later, when i think again, i feel so moved.

Another thing happened on the same day too. She had terrible accident and basically her wrist is a total lost, out of control of the brain and unable to follow the command. We started from scratch and she is now able to perform almost everything perfectly fine except it somehow still look cosmetically weird. She came that day and showed me something that brought an immediate smile on my face. She's able to control her pinky finger already. She said she wanted to snap a picture and send it to me but later on she decided to show it to me in person because she believed it will give me even greater surprise, which it did! I then literally told her that my job is done and can be discharged unless she wanted to continue for maintenance until she's ready for the second operation.

I discharged many patients and gratitude like above i don't receive as often as, i believe, i deserve. They often tell me that's my artwork and i made them feel like a human with dignity again. I usually tell them that, yes, i do my job, but you did a lot more before you come to this stage. We simply synchronize well.

There i think again, i think i can work for another few years, or probably my whole life if the same appreciation is given to me from time to time. Road to recovery is a pile of hard works. It takes time. Physiotherapy isn't a magic but with time and hard works, there comes the magic.

Respect us too, please.

on Tuesday, May 16, 2017
I had a good holiday back home. I left Peneng last Tuesday night and went back KL. My parents picked me up from the airport and we went McDonald's for supper. I was glad to be home. I went back and i felt like a tourist visiting many places i haven't been in a long time. I went out to many places with my mom. I have missed her and i didn't know i missed her that much. The Saturday on that same week was Mother's day. We went out for dinner. I was happy, she was happy, everybody was happy. I am so so happy to be home. Before i went back to Peneng I told my mom that i can continue to work for another 2 more months already because i feel charged.

There were problems waiting for me after i got back. A bad conversation on the phone was supposed to pissed me off but yet, i was calm. I hung up and continued my job. I think i started to understand the fact that i should not take hard feelings hard. It is bad for my health. It was a unhappy and disrespectful conversation but yet i know i won't be able to do anything so... so i let it go and do what i should do. I think my EQ has rose.

Another thing is, help those who wanted to be helped. I was pretty upset that i was working so hard to help them but yet they don't appreciate it. Complain on every single little thing that they are not happy about. Although i'm not a doctor but i work hard too on getting you back on your feet and even achieve much for that just walking. Respect us too please.

Sometimes i think... i work and work and work and i didn't know what i was doing already. What's the meaning behind all these work that doesn't really pay off?

I'm so full with feelings i'm gonna burst!

on Monday, April 24, 2017
I am so full with feelings right now.

I am broke this month. I owed the government 3 months of study loan and i paid it all a few weeks ago. I bought a flight back home. I bought my dad's a birthday present. I got myself a passport. I am very broke this month. So, i rejected a trip down the Jitra.

My housemate was being harsh to me. She kept saying it's hard preparing meals for us because we are picky eaters. I have improved a lot over the months but it still takes time to make changes, at least i try. Because i rejected the trip to Jitra, and i thought we will have no plan at all the whole day until she knocked on my door to call me out for dinner with our ex housemate; she is suppose to go to Jitra together with us at first. I thought, why not? At the end of the dinner it turned out it was my ex housemate's birthday. I didn't know neither did my housemate tell me about it when she knocked on my door. I was slightly annoyed by that. Then, when we split the bill, it was 39 bucks and i thought yeah, 20 each then. She said she will pay me back 19 because i ordered one more bowl of rice. I further annoyed by that. I didn't mind paying more and i always did i never be calculative with them at all because it is not necessary we all staying under the same roof. Apparently, it is not. The moment she said that, i thought, that's it. I'm not a calculative person by nature but if you did, that's it, i'm done. Then, i kept thinking if i'm being too sensitive. But the whole incident bugs me until now. I called Bavita and found out she wasn't doing too well herself but at least i made her smile again. Then, i called Priya and she made me all happy and excited again for September. They just made my day slightly better.

I was looking for an outlet to release my... me feeling bad. I didn't mean to tell my sister but somehow i told her everything. She advised me to never let one thing decide how a person she is, which i actually agree. But i'm still pretty sad. I don't like greens but when i cook for her i will get a plate of vegetable cooked as well because i know she can't eat a meal without a plate of greens. If i can do that, why can't you? Then, she was thinking to save up our fund to buy an oven. I didn't agree with her because it is an electrical appliance, what if either of us move out? And oven is not cheap so to speak. I would rather you spend more on actual food with existing cooking utensils than investing on something unrealistic. I think you can only proceed if you get mutual agreement from all the fundraisers, or else, you can't proceed. Not informing but getting consent. And she got mad because i don't agree.

Later at night, my mom texted me saying that it's my dad's birthday. Shit! My thought was so occupied with the above incident and forgot all about my dad's birthday. So, i texted him happy birthday and an hour later, i called home and greeted him on the phone. Then, we talked for a while. He asked me about my work. He asked me about my current living condition. His heart ached for me struggling to survive out there and kept asking me to call home for help if i really needed one because he knows that I will never do that no matter how hard things are for me. He wanted me to get my own place, my own space, and offered a lot of financial help in a tactful manner. We hung up after 30 mins or so and in another 30 minutes, dad called again. He did that talking all over again. I am very touched because i know there is at least someone back at home whose hearts are aching for me, worrying about me, wondering if i'm doing well out there. That just tells me whatever pain i'm going through has just all worth it.

All that mixture of feelings... i almost can't contain it anymore...

An instant self-esteem boost

on Tuesday, April 18, 2017
I treated a patient today. She's a Russian, a lecturer, a well-read person and i'm so inspired by her. She said something that gave me more reassurance; a boost to my self-esteem. I'm going to tell you what she said to me this morning.

'You know you're a very eye-opening person. No offense, first impression is very important whether you like it or not. When you came to the counter and greeted me, i thought you were one of the assistants who ushers the client sin. When you brought me into the cubicle and sat in front of me, i thought, God, what does this little boy possibly know... looking at your naturally small physique. Then, when you started talking and explaining my problems and addressing to them later on, i have to say i was very impressed. It is like a 180 degree flip to what i thought of you just now. You're the perfect example of 'Do not judge a book by its cover'. This is a world filled with educated failures so full with absolute stupidity, and when i started talking to you i thought, God, this boy is going to go far if he keeps stretching himself through the limit. The way you talk, the way you approach, they are totally different. I have seen so many people, disregard their profession, are speaking soullessly, they don't even look at you as if they have so little time for you, or simply to get to their objective.'

She is not the first person telling me this. There were one told me the same thing as well. It was months ago. Sometimes i do wonder if that day ever come. I have a lot of doubts the day i started doing physical therapy course. Until today i still feel indifferent. Anyway, we still talked about many things. I actually asked for her opinions if i should get more experiences abroad or just forget about it and go back KL and start my own practice. We talked about books too since she knows a lot about books; she teaches literature just if you are curious. We also talked about education. The purpose of education and the importance of getting education right. The time to get to higher education; before married or after; before private practice or after etc. It was pure joy. So much joy.

I enjoy talking to her. It is like i am talking to Ms Chan again. Today when my client tells me that, at this moment when i am so unsure of whatever i'm doing, it comes right on time. I couldn't take it off my mind until now.

3 criteria to make a job satisfying

on Sunday, April 9, 2017
This month's expenses has been incredibly high. It is just the beginning of the month and my bank account is going zero. I paid my study loan which i delayed in paying back for 3 months, then the bills, then my dad's birthday present, then the rental. Mid of June i have to pay for my medical insurance, July my car license, September my car's insurance and road tax. Everything is money. Life governs only by money is suffocating. Every month is about this same shit. I haven't bought the internal flight to Tasmania yet. I don't know if going to Australia is a good idea. I should have waited until everything has stabled down. Well, since i have already bought it i shall straighten everything out. May God bless me.

I drove out to get dinner just now. I was thinking of getting a muffin. It was just a muffin i wanted to eat and i thought if i should get it because i'm really tight right now. I'm so tired of it, having to even worry if i can afford a damn muffin. In 'Outliers' Malcolm Gladwell said 'Those three things- autonomy, complexity, and a connection between effort and reward- are, most people agree, the three qualities that work has to have if it is to be satisfying. It is not how much money we make that ultimately makes us happy between nine and five. It's whether our work fulfills us.' I partially agree to what Gladwell said but i think... money can't solve all the problems but it solves most of them. I am literally tired of making the end meet every fucking month.

I realised I was the one who wanted to be saved

on Saturday, March 25, 2017
I woke up late yesterday morning. I heard the alarm rang and i snoozed it and i never heard another one since... I started working at 8am and i woke up at 7.40am. I brushed my teeth and washed my face, put on my working clothes and rushed out to work.

I pretended to be okay which i knew i wasn't. I saw patients like usual just the way like before and surprisingly, one of my patients took me out for lunch. It was on him. I told him that he really didn't have to do that but he insisted. I thanked him afterwards. It was a small gift for me today.

I tried contacting the patient's son who worried about my treatment approach so i can get more details from him and explain to him. Well, just like the day before, he refused to pick up my call. I wonder what was it all about. My boss called me to bring in the medical record because she had to do clarification for me to the doctor and at the same time, she wanted me to send the doctor an email regarding that issue. I didn't know it could lead up to this.

At night i went to get double shots of my happiness; McDonald's and Tealive. I went to my favorite branch of McD in Peneng and picked a table that is directly facing Komtar Tower. It was breathtaking. I moved here for quite some time and haven't really breath in Peneng. After dinner, i planned to catch a movie, and a cup of Tealive too. On my way to my car, i saw a homeless Indian woman sitting at the corridor with 2 of her dogs. I smiled and walked pass her. Then i stopped. I told myself that i need to do something nice because i feel really sad inside. I have to do something nice. I opened my wallet and i only have big notes and a stack of 1 ringgit notes. I didn't count them and i took all out. I went back to the homeless woman and i gave her all. I asked her if she had taken her dinner... and i didn't really listen to her afterwards. After i gave her the notes, i caressed her dog for a few seconds and left. I was walking back to my car and out of a sudden my tears rushed out of my eyes and it streamed down fiercely. I ran to my car, got in, locked the car and... cried. I cried like a madman and my sadness just... exploded hysterically. That lasted for a few minutes though. It actually felt quite good afterwards and i feel... i can finally pick up myself and go on to solve the problem.

The whole incident of helping the homeless woman... the thought of helping her is actually... i wanted to save me from myself. I was the one who's desperate for help... I wanted to be saved, and it did save me from myself. Not that i've done something wrong to the patient... i just feel my effort was not appreciated and even got back-stabbed. I got blamed for trying to help.

I don't know what to do anymore.

And i thought things are going great until later...

on Friday, March 24, 2017
I thought i have been doing great until what happened in the afternoon. My boss called me into the office and i have never been this depressed. I received a complain directly from the doctor. My client sent him a few messages regarding if he should stop this treatment instead and focus on another one. It is a neuro rehab programme which also incorporated with musculoskeletal... but well the musculoskeletal treatment didn't work well for my client... in my defense there will be pain definitely after surgery especially when the effect of medication slowly wears off. And it will get better because experiences can tell. Not the surgery or treatment is killing them but the paranoia. Well, not a good day basically.

I've been doing everything nice and neat. Everything. Literally all for the good sake of my clients; op or no op. Out of 100 cases there will be one that's not compliant. There is one split second i thought... should i just don't care and be conservative; whether they recover fast or slow... *deep breathing* Sometimes i don't know if it worth the time and effort because with one small matter they gonna blame it all on you. Then a few hours when i think about it again... nah... that's not me. I will learn to deal with things smarter.

Sometimes i don't like things to go too smoothly because you know something bad has gotta be on its way after rainbow... like storm is approaching.

I have to just learn to be smarter.

I'm so overwhelmed by my own feelings

on Monday, March 20, 2017
I have been staying in Peneng officially for 4 months now and i have something so say. The past 4 months there were ups and downs and i think the ups are more than downs, and i feel so emotional, a good one, for all the good things that happened to me.

First, when i first moved in i was anxious. First, I was far away from home and i know this is gonna be away for a long time, plus this is my first time moving far away, all on my own, until i met my housemates. They were unbelievably kind. Rachel, Suellen, Qi, Ting and Hui Fang, my life here becomes happier and much better with them. We had a lot of fun together. Making dumplings, celebrating festivals etc.

Rach brought me to places where i can get cheap and authentic alcohols and exchanging her experiences as a PT for the past 5 years. I cannot be more thankful for that. Qi is a good cook, good speaker, so is she a good listener. She is a speech therapist and she speaks good mandarin, i find my mandarin speaking improves after moving in. She's friendly and easy to get along with. She just moved out and going to Queensland to further her study, i hope things work out well for her. Suellen. She did things that i will never do like not even thinking about it. She has the best social skill among all of us. She did couch-surfing for bagpackers, a discipline recyclist, and a very environmental friendly person where she grow her own fertilizers using our daily organic wastes. Honestly at first i wasn't that use to it but i tried to understand her needs and did it anyway, well, it wasn't that bad to do things that you have never thought doing. You have no idea how much my mind has broaden after i had moved out. And Hui Fang, she is a pharmacist, she has high expectation and great responsibility. Also, she gets depressed very easily. We are almost her counselors when she obviously needed one. Because of them, i have made so many new friends; basically their friends. It was amazing.

My family came to visit last weekend. It took me by surprise. They just called and informed that they are coming without prior notice. Just like that. I spent my whole evening cleaning my room after i got back from work. That's a bachelor room so it's a little messy i have to admit! And i kinda know why they came to visit. My dad drove my truck here and exchange my lousy old car. He wanted me to use that truck instead. I left it at home because i know i won't be able to afford the expenses and i planned to get it back when i have my financial rolled smooth. And he paid the road tax and insurance for me and drove it up all the way from home. I feel... emotional. I'm happy i get to use my truck now but i'm also embarrassed that my dad still is paying for my stuff. My dad has worked his whole life providing the family and he never stopped. I brought him to Straits Quay and he loved it there. I wanted to get him a unit and i know it's going to be difficult. I will try. For whatever he had done for me i wanted to pay him back the most i can. And my mom. And my sister. I love them too much. Too much. I'm 25 and i have so many things to do and i don't know how.

Work is work. It's the same. I have been learning consistently and i intend to learn more in the coming days. Again, i have nothing to complain other than its pay. But well, when i talked to my dad when he came to visit, our conversation was good. He told me to be patient and learn as i walk along the way because i think he saw that i wanted things to happen quickly when he knows it's impossible. I cherish my job. I do. When i see them recovering well i don't show my happiness or whatever but i just know that i'm doing the right and the best thing. I want to make money out of my profession and never compromised my values. But i don't know how. And my dad says again, 'be patient'. That morning when they left my place before sunrise my mom kissed me goodbye. When i got back to my room i smelled her perfume, the scent was still around. When i got back from work, the scent still there and i started to miss her. There i know... i love them very much. You have no idea how magical distance works between family members. It heals and enhances our connection. Our relationship just feels stronger.

I'm not able to sleep now because i am overwhelmed by my own feelings. The appreciation i have for everything up until now. 过去的那个星期我过得非常感动,谢谢你们。

This week has been good to me

on Saturday, March 11, 2017
This week has been good to me. A few good things happened in a row and i thank God for all that.

Today and yesterday, 2 different patients asked me:

'Young man, what's your name?'
'Bryan. My name is Bryan.'
'Ahh...?'
'I cannot remember your name. You write your name so i remember you.' - 09/03/2017

'How long have you been working here?'
'Not long. I just moved to this town.'
'Oh. You're good. You found the right place with the right strength.'
'Thanks!'
'What's your name?'
'Bryan.'
'Right.' She nodded. - 10/03/2017

The second conversation i had with was a patient i saw when i started working in PAH. I was new, and she had lumbar spacing and instrumentation, and honestly, i kinda nervous while handling this case. She came in with wheelchair, with CBD, cannot even stand. And after 3 months plus, she's now walking with a walking stick. She often complained of numbness (even after surgery) at the foot and asked me why... I couldn't explain exactly why but the information i gathered told me it's something either leave in a few years time or it lives with you forever even after surgery... it can get intense and causes pain as i heard. Anyway, I discharged her today. I review her for the last time and go all over again the exercises we have been doing together, and i hope she will be fine in the coming days. It's emotional, it's happiness, it's satisfaction.

One more, a young athlete who severely sprained his ankle came to me last month for physical therapy. When he first came, he had night splint on his leg bandaged with band-aid. Looked bad from the outside. When i expose the ankle, well, it wasn't enlightening. Severe oedema, loss of sensation, and no movements at all. Surprisingly though, the pain he felt was mild and he felt it most only upon ankle special tests. Last Thursday, i reviewed him and i have to say, he surprised me on every single session. He has marked improvement from session to session and i'm pretty sure he's adhering to my exercises and advice, and brave enough to take further step ahead without my permission but he assures me it was safe when he attempted them. On a Thursday 2 weeks ago, he has pretty weak muscle strength at the ankle and last Thursday, it was almost 4+/5. Stability and proprioception had great improvement as well. Too good. Just, too good. And i came up with a conclusion:
     - Being young is an advantage for healing injuries.
     - It's just different being an athlete compared to an amateur sportsman.
All that happened less than 2 months. With that recovery rate, he can very soon go back to the field.

Another one, a severely comminuted fracture at the medial and lateral epicondyle rendered severe nerve injuries, leading to complete loss of wrist movement and function, and loss of sensation. It was bad. Until last session, she has good wrist control and it was stunning! Clients often have very high expectation on themselves but as a physical therapist, those improvements are outstanding. It is not easy at all. It is a combination of intense training and intense mental strength in order to achieve whatever she has now. Just, stunning. As thing comes to this stage, probably time to step up the difficulty and get on gripping training on smaller objects.

Even all my TKR clients are recovering well. I'm the happiest man on earth this week! Often time, my clients said:

'Thanks to you for whatever i have right now.'
'No. Thank to you. I'm just facilitating your recovery. That's all i do. You did the major and hardest work: your commitment.'

We ended up smiling to each other.

After so long!

It was a long long time since i last updated. Probably the side effects of reading George Orwell's writing. I can't stand it anymore. Whatever being written and stored in the database, well, let it be.

I started working as physical therapist 3 months plus ago. It has been going well. I love my job. I like seeing my patient's progression but sometimes i encounter some difficult and complicated cases i don't know what should i do especially the patient is not progressing at all. Despite that, i still love what i do. I really do. I just need to study tans of things to get better as i progress my career. The workload is hell and the income is not matching the job demand, that's the only thing i'm concerning. The expenses are definitely high after i moved out so... But things are getting better and i hope it will keep going this way.

I've heard too many complaints against my superior these days and i've started to get tired of it. Tiring. I think people need to appreciate more because... life itself is hard enough and making it more complicated is the last thing you want. I only hope whatever i'm doing right now gets equal return simply because i'm not a lazy person, i will try to meet the goal and i only want an equal return. That's all.

I'm planning to go Hobart, Tasmania, Australia in the coming August once i get enough money for the flight ticket. I wanted to go long time ago but i was too broke LOL! Now i probably can start doing whatever i like until i'm fully committed to my business in the future. Hopefully everything works out well.

P/S: Have been reading classic literature. So complicated. Sometimes boring. But it is too important to extract its information in order to protect humanity in a world full of foolish wits.
